Vincentian Services

Serving Christ's needy is the first purpose of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The members of the Society of the St. Louis have quietly answered the calls of thousands of people who have reached out to us for help.

The work of the volunteer members is coordinated by a staff who administers the Council office under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors.

A conference is the basic organizational unit of the Society and is usually affiliated with a parish.

The first U.S. Conference was formed in 1845 at the Basilica of St. Louis on the banks of the Mississippi River.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of St. Louis has grown to more than 141 participating parishes with over 2500 Vincentian volunteers in 11 counties of eastern Missouri.

Vincentians providing these services are witness to God's love by embracing all works of charity and justice. They collaborate with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing the cause.
